[ARCHIVED] Suicide Prevention Mural on Display

mural

Director of Parks and Recreation Darren Hurley welcomes Andrea Nadolny to the Community Center where her "You're Not Alone" mural will be displayed in the lobby. Andrea Nadolny is a Thomas Worthington High School student working to complete her Gold Award for Girl Scouts. She created the "You're Not Alone" mural in response to concerns over depression and suicide during the pandemic. The mural is accompanied by a sign and QR code that links to more information on the issue. The public is invited to stop by and see the mural, click here for Community Center hours.

As part of her project, Andrea has also developed information graphics to raise awareness and offer suicide prevention information and resources. The information includes symptoms of suicidal thinking, how to talk about suicide, and good mental health. These resources were developed with the Ohio Suicide Prevention Foundation and reviewed by mental health professionals to ensure the credibility and accuracy of the information. Download the materials here and see the graphics below.

If you or someone you know is contemplating suicide or expressing suicidal thoughts, reach out to the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 800-273-8255. Additional contacts and resources are provided here or in the information below.
