Rotary Family Picnic

Sunday, September 5, 2021

The Rotary Family Picnic is back this Labor Day weekend! Postponed from July 4th, the Family Picnic brings Supergames, food trucks, vendors and more to the Worthington community for a day full of family fun. Bring a blanket or lawn chairs and join your neighbors for the picnic and activities on the front lawn of Thomas Worthington High School. This annual community event is presented by the Dublin Worthington Rotary Club.

Rotary Family Picnic offers Fun over Labor Day Weekend

If you’re looking for family fun over the Labor Day weekend, check out the Rotary Family Picnic on Sunday, Sept. 5, for games, activities and yummy food to enjoy.

The event, on the front lawn of Thomas Worthington High School, 300 W. Dublin-Granville Rd., features giant inflatable SuperGames, activities by area scouting troops, Toy Barn classic cars, music and food. It will be held from 3pm to 7pm. Admission is free.

WDLR 1550 AM 92.9 FM will broadcast live from the event with DJ Bob Allen playing Ohio’s best classic hits from the 70s and 80s and more.

A number of food and specialty-treat trucks will be on hand. Rotarians will also sell hot dogs, beverages and Dairy Queen ice cream treats. Families may bring their own picnic food and refreshments along with lawn chairs and blankets.

In its 16th year, the event is hosted by the Dublin-Worthington Rotary Club. FCBank is the presenting sponsor. Proceeds are used to fund Rotary service projects, helping youth and their families in the Worthington and Dublin communities.

COVID-19 precautions will be in place for all attendees. Masks are recommended for children and unvaccinated persons. Social distancing markers will be placed at SuperGame activity entrances, and hand sanitizer stations will be available.

The event, normally held on the Fourth of July in conjunction with the City of Worthington’s fireworks display, was not held in 2020 and postponed until Labor Day weekend this year due to COVID-19 concerns and restrictions.

Major sponsors for the event include Appel & Hellstedt LLP, Attorneys at Law, Cam Taylor Realtors, Drs. Hull and Appel Family Dentistry, Lauterbach & Eilber Insurance, Northwest Oral & Facial Surgery, Ohio Fire Chief’s Association, Schoedinger Funeral Homes, Scioto Energy and Timothy E. Moats, DDS.

The Dublin-Worthington Rotary Club is composed of community and business and professional leaders representing different careers, experiences and views but with a common purpose to make a positive difference in the community and globally. Rotary’s motto, Service Above Self, exemplifies the humanitarian spirit of the organization’s members. For additional information about the Family Picnic and or club membership, contact
