Worthington Police Citizens Academy

The Police Citizens Academy Registration Open for 2023

NOTICE: Registration is STILL OPEN for the Worthington Police Citizens Academy. Technical issues on our website prevented some from registering with the online form. The issue has been resolved. The first class begins on Wednesday, January 18th. If you tried to register but received a message that the form was not accepting applications, please register by contacting Officer Tammy Floyd directly at tammy.floyd@worthington.org or call 614-436-6595.

The Worthington Division of Police invites any Worthington resident or employee within the city to participate in the Worthington Police Citizens Academy. If you do not live or work in Worthington, but still have an interest in law enforcement, we invite you to apply as well!  Participants will see aspects of what it is like to be a law enforcement officer and gather an understanding of the necessary tools and information needed to perform the job. The course is taught by certified sworn officers and provides real-life scenarios requiring split decision-making efforts. Please join us for a fun and educational experience.

The Academy is held at the Worthington Police Department, 6555 Worthington-Galena Road one night a week from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm for a nine-week period of basic police instruction. Proposed dates are January 18, 25, February 1, 8, 15, 22 and March 1, 8, 15, 2023. There is no cost to the student to attend the academy.
