Reserve Officers

The Worthington Division of Police has a dedicated group of volunteer officers known as the Worthington Police Reserves. This little known city asset of sworn police officers wears the same type uniform and equipment as full time officers with the exception of a small patch on each shoulder.

Although they have gone through the same stringent requirements specified by the Ohio Peace Officer’s Training Academy and must meet the training specifications of the Worthington Division of Police, they work in a volunteer basis in conjunction with full time officers and at times alone providing police functions to the Worthington Community.

This organization has been in existence since approved by the then, Village Council of Worthington in 1954. The time and effort expended by these dedicated individuals is done as a community service providing for a better and safer Worthington.
