Suicide Prevention Mural on Display

youre not alone

Director of Parks and Recreation Darren Hurley welcomes Andrea Nadolny to the Community Center where her "You're Not Alone" mural is hung and displayed in the south lobby. Andrea Nadolny is a Thomas Worthington High School student who completed the project for her Gold Award for Girl Scouts. She created the "You're Not Alone" mural in response to concerns over depression and suicide during the pandemic. The public is invited to stop by and see Andrea's mural during open building hours. As part of her project, Andrea has also developed information graphics to raise awareness and offer suicide prevention information and resources. The information includes symptoms of suicidal thinking, how to talk about suicide, and good mental health. These resources were developed with the Ohio Suicide Prevention Foundation and reviewed by mental health professionals to ensure the credibility and accuracy of the information. Download the materials here or click on the links to the right of this page. You may also visit Andrea's website at www.andreasgold.weebly.com to see behind the scenes photos of the creative process and why she chose this project.
