City Facilities and Services

City of Worthington facilities are open to the public. However, we continue to encourage people to conduct business with the City virtually whenever possible by calling, emailing, or on the City website at worthington.org

Safety measures in all locations include:

  • People who are experiencing any coronavirus symptoms must not enter the building and should contact their healthcare provider.
  • Visitors are asked to use hand sanitizer upon entering the building. Hand sanitizer stations are available.
  • People who are not vaccinated are asked to wear a face-covering and maintain a 6-foot distance between others. 
  • People who are vaccinated are able to enter buildings without a mask. 
  • Plexiglass barriers are installed at most public counters.
  • Signage will inform and instruct the public on safety precautions in place at each location.

Parks & Recreation

Parks and Recreation is expanding hours and opportunities at the Community Center and Griswold Center. Beginning June 1, 2021 these changes will be in effect: 

Community Center Hours: 

  • Monday through Thursday: 5:30 am – 8:00 pm
  • Friday: 5:30 am– 5:00 pm
  • Saturday: 8:00 am– 4:00 pm
  • Sunday: 10:00 am– 4:00 pm

Phones will be answered:

  • Monday through Thursday: 8:15am - 7:30pm
  • Friday 8:15am - 4:30pm
  • Saturday 8:00am - 3:30pm
  • Sunday 10:00am - 3:30pm

Masks - People who are not vaccinated are asked to wear a facial covering unless actively exercising. 

Community Center Fitness Floor - The fitness equipment in the North Gym will return to the Fitness Floor. We encourage everyone to maintain a physical distance from those not in their household and not use adjacent equipment. There will be some equipment available in the Kid’s Corner that will maintain appropriate spacing. As a reminder, no bags, coats or other bulky personal items permitted on the fitness floor. Please store personal belongings in a day locker, cubbie, or wallet-sized day lockers. The locker rooms will now be open, but locks are no longer available to borrow. 

Community Center Aquatics Facility - Reservations are still required in every area of the aquatics facility except the hot tub, which is open at a limited capacity. Families arriving for Family Swim Times should enter through the Fishbowl, and all other users may now enter and exit through the locker rooms or family changing area. To continue to control access and monitor who is in the building the playground doors and the pool patio will remain locked at this time. Reserve a time slot and learn more.

Hot Tub - There is currently a maximum of 6 individuals permitted in the hot tub. Please look for the yellow arrows for available spaces. The hot tub is for those 16 years old and up.

Locker Rooms - Locker rooms are available. Please bring your own lock, and remain mindful of social distancing in the locker rooms and throughout the facility.

Childcare - The Childcare room will reopen on June 8 with the following hours:

  • Tuesday through Thursday: 9:00 am - 1:00 pm
  • Saturday: 9:00 am - 1:00 pm

Griswold Center Fitness Room Hours - Monday through Friday: 8am to Noon

The Griswold Center’s Fitness Room is now open for all Silver Sneakers, Renew Active, Griswold Center Fitness Room Punch Card Holders and Community Center Senior Annual Members. You no longer need to make a reservation. Staff will be on-site to answer any questions and will continue to clean and sanitize the facility. Visit the Griswold Center online for details.

Administration – Worthington Municipal Building

  • The public is encouraged to conduct business by phone, email or online whenever possible.
  • The City Clerk and Mayor's Court counters are open for in-person services.  
  • Garage sale permit applications and block party permit applications are being accepted at the City Clerk's counter. Applicants are required to follow these State of Ohio Health Protocols.
  • The issuance of right-of-way solicitation and door-to-door solicitation permits continues to be suspended.
  • The Finance Department counter remains closed to the public. Finance office services should be conducted either by phone or email.
  • Income Tax assistance can be obtained online from the Regional Income Tax Authority (RITA) at ritaohio.com.

Service & Engineering

  • The public is encouraged to conduct business by phone, email or online whenever possible.
  • Because of limited space, the lobby is restricted to one person inside at a time.
  • If you are dropping off documents, please leave them in the designated drop box in the lobby. Staff will contact you when they are ready to be picked up if necessary.
  • Yard Waste Drop-off is available between the hours of 7:30am to 3pm weekdays.  Residents should pull up to the gate and call the Service office at 614-431-2425. You will be permitted in the gate after you have given your name and address. The gate will automatically open upon your departure.
  • Service requests can be submitted online http://www.worthington.org/RequestTracker.aspx
  • No vendors, consultants or contractors will be allowed without an appointment. All appointments will be conducted via phone or video conference when possible.
