As we approach Memorial Day, we want to be sure to stop and remember the lives of all the men and women who have given the ultimate sacrifice to protect our community and nation. Although we are not able to gather for the traditional Memorial Day Parade this year, we hope you will join us in recognizing the military personnel who have died in service. As a visual reminder, City crews, Worthington American Legion Leasure-Blackston Post 239 members, and volunteers planted thousands of American flags along the Village Green in Old Worthington. The flags were first planted for the 2019 September 11th remembrance and we felt it was a fitting way to pay tribute this Memorial Day. You may want to also fly your American Flag at home, if you're not already. Another sure sign of spring in Worthington, the hanging flower baskets have been installed along with the American Flags on lamp posts in Old Worthington. If you're out for a walk with your family, or pass through Old Worthington this holiday weekend, please take a moment to remember... and know that we all look toward the day when we can come together in person again.
