The Worthington Division of Police has progressed from the days of having only a single law enforcement officer, Marshal James Talladay in the late twenties, to a community-based, professional police agency with a full-time complement of 34 sworn officers and 13 civilians. The agency is divided up into four functional components: Uniformed Patrol, Criminal Investigations, Communications and Administration. The agency provides the communities of Worthington and the Village of Riverlea with full service policing and handles yearly over 21,000 Calls for Service.
The strength of the Division has always come from an understanding of the partnership with the citizens we serve. The atmosphere of personal commitment that exemplifies the Worthington community as a whole is demonstrated throughout the entire Division of Police. This commitment is demonstrated in the Core Values of our Division.
