Established in a residential neighborhood, Pingree Park provides recreational opportunities for childrens' plays and family get-togethers. Separate equipment play areas have been established for preschool and school-aged children. The hard surface areas provide court games of hop scotch, four square and tetherball, and the basketball court can be used for high school regulation or the side court, eight foot high basket can be used for youngsters learning to play the game.
The department uses the site as one of the six supervised summer "Fun Center" sites for boys and girls six to 18 years of age.
