Updated 6/1/2020 - 7:45 pm

The Worthington Parks & Recreation team has been working on a plan to safely resume and reopen some facilities and programming based on current State protocols and safety guidelines.

Community Center Phase 1 - Fitness Floor Reopening

Phase 1 reopening of the Community Center will consist of limited Fitness Floor equipment use by reservation only.  The building will reopen on Wednesday, June 3.

Follow this link to register and for more detailed information

Phase 1 hours will be:

  • Monday-Thursday:
    • 6:00 am to 11:45 am
    • 2:15 pm-3:30 (high-risk patrons)
    • 3:45 pm-8:00 pm in 75-minute time slots.
  • The facility will be closed from 11:45 am-2:15 pm for cleaning.
  • Friday hours: 6am – 11:45am in 75-minute time slots.
  • Saturday hours: 8am – 2pm in 75-minute time slots.
  • Sunday: closed

During Phase 1 reservations will only be accepted for Worthington residents and members, ages 12 years and older. Since March 16 all memberships have been on hold, and no electronic membership fees have been processed. Members will now have the option of reinstating their current membership or pay $8 for each 75-minute time slot. If you wish to keep your membership on hold or have other membership related requests, please email memberrequests@worthington.org.

Patrons are responsible for practicing safe distancing while in the building, wiping down equipment, and are strongly encouraged to wear face coverings when entering and exiting the facility. The building will be closed after each 75-minute time slot for 15 minutes for cleaning, and the doors will remain locked during these times. The pool, locker rooms, childcare, art studio, open gyms, pottery studio, playgrounds, group fitness classes, and front desk will remain closed during phase 1.

Previous Facility Updates

The City has carefully reviewed the protocols and, based on the guidelines and the advice of local health experts, has a plan in place to begin reopening some facilities. As facilities reopen, these safety measures already in place at a limited number of open City facilities, as well as other sector and sports-specific State protocols will be in place. Each location will be signed with specific safety protocols that each user is responsible for following. It is important for you to abide by these guidelines so that all users are protected and safe, and the facilities can remain open for the community to enjoy.

Please see the timeline below for information on all Parks & Recreation facilities and amenities that have been closed to the public. We will continue to provide information on our website as more details become available. Thank you for your patience as we work hard to responsibly bring back facilities and programs under the new standards.
