In the spirit of neighbors helping neighbors during this coronavirus pandemic, the City is highlighting our 2019 Good Neighbor award winners whose good deeds have helped others in the Worthington community.
The Worthington City Council and Worthington Community Relations Commission (CRC) recognized the 2019 honorees at the March 2, 2020 City Council meeting. The honorees exemplify the term “good neighbor” because of their kindness and generosity toward their neighbors.
Brothers Seth and Liam Keasel were nominated by their neighbors Lynn and Nick Masuci for faithfully shoveling snow from the sidewalk and driveway of their elderly neighbors, always being there when needed, and never asking for compensation. Seth and Liam were honored for recognizing that even small gestures can make a great impact for a neighbor in need.

Michelle and George Geissbuhler were nominated by their neighbors Jon and Lesley Cross for taking a genuine interest in the lives and activities of neighborhood kids, always being the first to offer assistance and support, and offering their talents in woodworking or gardening. The Geissbuhlers were recognized for sharing a warm, welcoming and generous spirit that enriches their neighborhood. Unfortunately shortly after this award was presented, George was injured in an accident. While George is recovering, Michelle is encouraging others to support George’s areas of passion and has created this website to share all the ways friends and neighbors can do good for others and honor George’s generous spirit. https://www.georgeforgood.org/

Individuals who make our neighborhoods and our community such a special place to live often go about their good deeds without any special recognition. The Community Relations Commission has presented the Good Neighbor Award each year since 1993 to thank members of the community who promote cooperation and goodwill throughout their neighborhood.
