City Seeking Applicants for Boards and Commissions

The City of Worthington is currently seeking applicants for positions on several Boards and Commissions. City Council is accepting applications to fill terms on the Architectural Review Board, Community Relations Commission, Parks and Recreation Commission, and the Bike and Pedestrian Advisory Board.

Architectural Review Board – 1 year term – The Architectural Review Board hears requests for development in and any modifications to structures in the Architectural Review District of the City. The Architectural Review Board meets before the Municipal Planning Commission on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month at 7:00 pm. At least one of the appointees must be a resident freeholder of the District.

Community Relations Commission – 3 year term - The Community Relations Commission (CRC) promotes mutual understanding and cooperation among all members of the Worthington community and advises City Council on issues related to promoting good will and positive relationships among the citizens of Worthington. The CRC annually sponsors the Martin Luther King Community Celebration, the Neighborhood Grant program, the Good Neighbor Award and other programs of community interest. The Commission meets the first Tuesday of the month, 7:00 pm. The CRC is composed of nine voting members, at least seven of which shall be residents of the City of Worthington.

Parks and Recreation Commission – 2 year term – The Parks and Recreation Commission advises Worthington City Council on needs associated with Parks and Recreation facilities and programs. The nine-member Commission meets on the third Tuesday of each month at 6:00 pm.

Bike and Pedestrian Advisory Board – 3 year term - The Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Board advises and consults with City Council and City Administration on the implementation of bicycle and pedestrian plans. The Board meets the fourth Monday of every month at 6:00 pm. The Board consists of nine members, seven of which must reside within the City of Worthington.

All Boards and Commission members serve without compensation.
