During this time of social distancing, Vision Worthington has expanded its community engagement portal and moved community participation activities online. VisionWorthington.org will be the primary way the committee gains resident input and feedback to articulate a vision of Worthington’s future. City officials will use this carefully crafted vision to help make long-term strategic decisions and investments in our community. Community engagement is critical to the success of this initiative.
If you’ve been waiting to get involved in building Worthington’s vision of the future, the time is now! Based on resident interviews, strength aNd opportunity workshops and focus groups, the Worthington Visioning Committee has released a Vision Worthington Community Survey to capture the opinions and ideas of city residents, school district residents, city business owners and workers and others who care about the future of our community. The 20-minute survey asks you to share what you most value about Worthington today, what you think of city services and what the city should prioritize for the future. The survey is open now through August 15, but don’t delay. On July 1, July 15 and August 1, we’ll enter all those who have completed the survey in a drawing for four $50 Worthington restaurant gift cards. The earlier you take the survey, the more chances you’ll have to win (respondents can only win once).
You see Worthington through a unique lens, and we’d like you to share your perspective with us. Vision Worthington will be hosting focus groups from June 16 through July 2 designed to hear from four large segments of our community:
We’ll be focus on gaining your feedback on traditional planning topics like land use, transportation, infrastructure, environment, economic development, housing, governance and intra-community coordination. What is your vision for each of these? What are the priorities? What are the challenges?
Comments will be recorded by the Visioning Committee and utilized in the visioning process.

These learnings represent recurring themes that you can react to. To each theme, you can add your perspective and tell us if you agree or disagree. This is one approach the committee is taking to test the insights we’ve heard with a broader group of Worthington residents. These ideas will not necessarily appear in our final visioning statements, but are a collection of themes, comments and ideas we’ve heard so far.
