Virtual Visioning: Visioning Committee Engages Online

Visioning logo

During this time of social distancing, Vision Worthington has expanded its community engagement portal and moved community participation activities online.

VisionWorthington.org will be the primary way the committee gains resident input and feedback to articulate a vision of Worthington’s future. City officials will use this carefully crafted vision to help make long-term strategic decisions and investments in our community. Community engagement is critical to the success of this initiative.

Register and help those in need

The online portal requires residents to register to participate in most polls, surveys and discussions on the site. Users can be anonymous, but registration allows the committee to attribute comments made throughout the site to individual users – ensuring everyone has an equal voice. It also enables the committee to contact participants about future engagement opportunities, special online events, and additional visioning process and community information.

Now through May 22, if you register at visionworthington.org the committee will make a $1 donation to the Worthington Resource Pantry to support those in need during this challenging time. Registering is a great way to invest in our community today and tomorrow.

First online event announced

The Visioning Committee invites you to share your dreams and aspirations for Worthington’s future at its first online event for public input. The Visioning Workshop is scheduled for several sessions at the end of May and beginning of June to offer convenient options for you to connect remotely from home. A SOAR (Strengths, Opportunities, Aspirations, Results) Analysis will be conducted to identify Worthington’s key strengths and opportunities and how those relate to our aspirations and desired results. This strategic visioning tool encourages listening to different perspectives, looking at both the present and future to help our community move forward.

Please follow the Registration Link to register for one session only to hold your virtual seat at the event. After signing-up for a date and time, you’ll receive a link to the online meeting prior to the session. No computer applications or downloads are required.

What We’ve Heard…So Far

We’ve added a new section to visionworthington.org called “What We’ve Heard” where you can read what the Visioning Committee is hearing from residents we’ve interviewed or met with so far. These learnings represent recurring themes that you can react to. To each theme, you can add your perspective and tell us if you agree or disagree. This is one approach the committee is taking to test the insights we’ve heard with a broader group of Worthington residents. These ideas will not necessarily appear in our final visioning statements, but are a collection of themes, comments and ideas we’ve heard so far. Comments are monitored and must meet our moderation policy.

The Visioning Committee’s goal is to develop a well-articulated vision of Worthington’s future that residents endorse. Please take the opportunity to be a part of this ambitious and exciting endeavor. You can help shape the future of Worthington for future generations.  Engage today!
