The Worthington community will soon be able to watch Worthington City Council meetings from the comfort of their homes, or while on the go. Beginning Tuesday, September 4, 2018, Worthington City Council will be live streaming all of its meetings, and archiving the video on the worthington.org website. The video stream and archives can be accessed directly at worthington.org/live. This new technology is giving the City the opportunity to be more open and transparent, allowing visitors to watch gavel to gavel coverage of City Council discussions and legislative action.
All meetings will be closed-captioned, live and on-demand. Residents and interested parties can view Worthington City Council meetings as they happen and on-demand via all platforms capable of video playback — including desktop computers, laptops, smart phones and tablets. An indexed agenda accompanies the on-demand videos, making it easy for viewers to jump to topics or agenda items that are most relevant to them.
Worthington City Council meetings take place the first three Mondays of every month at 7:30 p.m., with the exception of an August recess. City Council meetings take place on Tuesdays during the weeks when a holiday falls on a Monday.
The City of Worthington is partnering with Swagit Productions, LLC, which provides hands-free video streaming®, broadcast and captioning solutions to local, state and federal government agencies.
